These Mizuno JPX-921 Hot Metal Pro irons, introduced for season 2021, are just a bit smaller than the 'regular' Hot Metals with also a bit less offset. So they look a bit more profi... Within the JPX philosophy of top manufacturer Mizuno, these Hot Metal Pro and the Hot Metal are technically the same and all techniques have been used to make golf as accessible as possible. Fantastically designed and further perfected in comparison with its predecessor JPX-919. A growing group of followers recognise the top quality of Mizuno.
The technique: More 'Game improving' iron than ever
Hot Metal is the term behind the enormous explosiveness in these JPX-921HM irons. The strong Power Frame has been made more stable and, with beautiful contours, forms a really beautiful, slim designed iron for golfers with a slightly higher handicap. Also the 3rd generation Chromoly 4140M finish with wafer-thin, explosive Core Tech club blade combines beautifully with very effective ball contact explosiveness.
The Hot Metal philosophy stands for more distance and forgiveness, also with these JPX-921 Hot Metal Pro irons. There is a lot of technical ingenuity on board to keep your ball 'within the lines'. That's all you could wish for as a beginner or (light) advanced golfer. The enormous stability brings less vibration if the ball is not hit clean without losing the feedback. The somewhat higher ball flight makes the story nice and predictable and a lower centre of gravity, an oversized head with enormous sweet spot make it fine irons for every golf level but especially for golfers with HCP 18-54.
Hot Metal versus Hot Metal Pro
The Hot Metal version of the JPX series is intended for the somewhat higher handicappers and has two variants with the same technical basis but also with a few clear differences. The 'normal' Hot Metal irons have a considerable 'offset' setting which makes it easier to hit 'through the ball'. This makes it easier to hit the ball full. The Hot Metal Pro has no offset, a more compact head and a slimmer topline. These differences make the Hot Metal Pro a club for golfers who have just a little more skills and are looking for a little more feeling and control in addition to maximum forgiveness.
As standard these JPX 921 Hot Metal Pro irons in men's black steel shaft version are equipped with UST Mamiya Recoil ESX 460 Graphite Shaft and und Lamkin ST Hybrid Standard+2 grips but deviations from the standard version are of course always possible.
