The golf branch of the mega-corporation Mizuno has produced some magnificent golfclubs in recent years. In the driver collection for the 2021 season, Mizuno has clearly outdone themselves again. In addition to the beautifully designed, modern look, two different versions have been created for different categories of golfer. Choose the right one and you are sure to have a driver that suits you better.
The technology: versatile with more focus on power and forgiveness
The Mizuno ST-X drivers are full of interesting innovations. For the 2021 season, the clubface/face is made of Forged SAT 2041 BETA Titanium: As a high-strength Beta Ti, SAT2041 retains its properties and resists micro-cracking longer than the commonly used 6-4 Ti. The crown (top of the head) at Mizuno has long been made of lightweight carbon. This makes the sole (underside of the head) proportionally heavier and therefore the centre of gravity lower, making it easier to launch the ball. The Wave Technology just behind the face provides more stability and a huge sweet spot for easier straight hitting. This Wave Technology has been optimized on the ST-Z Driver for even more ease of use.
Which of the three versions works best for you
The ST-X driver will appeal to the largest target group. This balanced model has an ideal combination of power and forgiveness. With most of the weight in the back of the head, hitting the ball less than clean isn't so bad. This is coupled with not too much spin to affect flight control. The top of the range model is the ST-X which is aimed at demanding, advanced golfers. This ST-X version features a flatter flight (and therefore more length) and two sliding weights to adjust the balance in the head to your requirements. If you want to sacrifice a little forgiveness for more length and control, the weights can be moved forward. Even correcting a stubborn slice is possible. In addition, the more weights are moved forward, the less spin there will be. Finally, there is the featherweight ST 200X. This version is designed for golfers with higher handicaps and/or lower swing speeds. The balance in the head creates a draw setting that makes the club easier to handle. The lighter head, together with an extremely light shaft and grip, produces more club speed, even at low swing speeds. Ball flight (and spin rate) is higher, making it more predictable.
Also loft adjustability... handy!
The loft adjustability allows you to raise or lower the driver's loft by up to 2 degrees to adjust the ball flight height to your own swing, technique or preference. The right loft setting could save you 10 to 15 meters in length. The adjustment key is included.
As standard, this Ladies driver comes with a Mitsubishi Chemical Bassara E42-5ct Ladies Flex graphite shaft en Winn DriTac Undersize ladiesgrip, but if you prefer a different shaft or grip, there is no extra charge.
