Wilson Staff Model XB Irons 4-PW 2026 (steel shaft)

As a major player in the entry-level market, Wilson also produces premium clubs of a remarkably high standard for more advanced golfers. Under this ‘banner’, the brand offers the Wilson Staff Model XB irons, which look like blades but are certainly not blades in terms of construction. Thanks to their hollow construction, filled with damping foam, these XB irons are much easier to play. Whereas genuine blades can be quite difficult for the average mid-handicapper to play, these XBs are much more forgiving. However, the forged 8620 carbon steel in these beautifully designed clubs provides an exceptional feel, whilst making them much more accessible and therefore suitable for a wider audience.

_{The technique}

These beautiful Staff Model XB irons also feature the luxurious Brushed Satin finish, giving them a fantastic look. In terms of materials, there are some similarities with the Blades, but the design is radically different. As for the technical details, we see a hollow clubhead, filled with damping foam for maximum power, a higher ball flight and plenty of forgiveness. Here too, the clubhead is made from soft Forged 8620 carbon steel. The feel and fine feedback provide clear information on how and where the ball is struck. The Precision Milled Face grooves, laser-etched onto the face, deliver more consistent spin and improved stopping power. In terms of weight distribution, Wilson uses Precise Mass Placement Technology to position mass in the ‘toe’ of the face, shifting the centre of gravity towards the centre of the face. This maximises forgiveness and energy transfer. Finally, a significant amount of weight has been removed from the Fluid Feel Hosel and redistributed to the toe to take the overall performance of this iron to the next level.
