The techniqueThe engineering driving the TaylorMade Hi-Toe 5 Wedge is focused on delivering maximum spin and feedback from any lie on the course. Forged from premium 8620 soft carbon steel, it provides world-class acoustics and feel at impact. The expanded Hi-Toe silhouette raises the center of gravity (CG) higher up the face, which promotes a lower, more controlled launch trajectory paired with enhanced spin rates.
To ensure consistent friction, aggressive saw-milled grooves extend all the way from heel to toe. Featuring tight tolerances, steeper sidewalls, and sharper radii, these grooves grab the ball cover effectively. The unplated RAW face integrates Spin Tread Technology—a specialized surface laser treatment designed to channel moisture away in wet conditions or heavy rough. Complemented by five distinct sole grinds, the Hi-Toe 5 allows players to precisely match their wedge setup to their swing path and course conditions.
