TaylorMade P-790 Forged Irons 5-PW 2025 (steel shaft)

Here they are: the 5th generation P790 irons. For years, TaylorMade has had outstanding success with its P790 series, both on the Tour and in golf shops. Anno 2025, TaylorMade has refreshed the P790 with a new, up-to-date design where you can easily see the quality in that area alone. But fortunately, that is not the only thing that has changed about these very important clubs for TaylorMade. Playing characteristics and performance have also been raised. For mid and low handicap golfers, this P790-2025 is a series of irons with lots of feedback and sensitivity and power.... a combination that is rare at this level.

_{The technique}

In addition to a stylish, almost minimalist design, the latest P790 irons have the features that make discerning golfers happy. In doing so, each iron is different in construction to best suit the task at hand. So expect especially high performance from these P790 Players Irons.
With the new FLTD CG Innovation, TaylorMade strategically positions the center of gravity lowest in the long irons and gradually shifts it higher in the rest of the irons. A new back wall construction varying in thickness optimizes weight distribution for better launch and playability in the long irons with precision and control in the scoring clubs.
The clubhead is forged from 8620 Carbon Steel combined with the new, 20% stronger Forged 4340M Steel Face face face. This gives the club more length and up to 24% larger sweetspot! In addition, SpeedFoam Air Technology provides a controlled, solid feel during ball contact. Vibrations are also dampened by the foam padding.
Also in this generation P-790 irons, Thru-Slot Speed Pockets are used in the longer irons. These provide even more power and launch power.
New in these 2025 irons is the Intelligent Sweet Spot where the face is only 1.56 mm thick at the thinnest spot. The combination of the responsive face and the new design creates a new sweet spot design. This is a remarkable advancement is from the first generations of the P-790 and ensures consistent ball speeds and accuracy.
