Although the JPX series name is mentioned by many golfers in the same breath with 'very forgiving' and 'irons for starters', that is only partly true. Within that JPX series, actually every golfer can find something suitable. This JPX-921 Tour iron set, for instance, is intended for better golfers with lower handicaps who do want the power and forgiveness of the JPX clubs but where the more compact shape of the JPX Tour 'semi-blade' irons are easy to handle. The long-acclaimed Grain Flow Forged forging process that Mizuno employs in these clubs is maximally noticeable in the sensitivity and 'soft' ball contact. This, combined with the precise feedback and high controllability, makes these JPX Tour irons very fine powerful irons.

_{The technique}

These Mizuno JPX-921 Tour irons are made of forged 4120 Chromoly finnished carbon steel. These clubs also share some technology with the JPX 921 Hot Metal irons but the basis is clearly different and much more focused on feel rather than forgiveness. The ball contact of a Tour version gives maximum feedback, letting the club know exactly what is happening when hitting the ball. definitely feels softer than a cast 921 Hot Metal iron and gives a more clear feedback on what is happening during ball contact. The improved New Core Tech Face (striking face) delivers maximum power but offers control at the same time. Addressing this, the top line is very slim which appeals to advanced golfers.
